AUSTIN, Texas (AP) The fight over Texas' once-a-decade redrawing of election districts is a boon to lawyers with a court battle still raging four years after the 2010 census. But Republicans drew maps to create three new districts that favor them.

GALVESTON, Texas (AP) Authorities in charge of the cleanup from last week's Houston Ship Channel oil spill say they're responding to reports of oil near North Padre Island and Mustang Island. That's about 200 miles southwest of the original accident. There have been no reports of wildlife damage from the new sightings.

IRVING, Texas (AP) A Dallas-area woman is charged with intoxication manslaughter and other charges after two of her children were killed and two others hurt when the vehicle she was driving slammed into two parked cars. Irving police say Crystal Suniga was taken to a Dallas hospital for treatment when she was hurt in the Saturday night crash. Police say her blood alcohol was 0.18.

EL PASO, Texas (AP) El Paso police say one of their officers is being investigated for driving through a group of bicyclists on his motorcycle. Police say Jorge Gonzalez drove through the cyclists who were blocking traffic on one of downtown El Paso's main streets and later chased one of them. Some cyclists were injured.
