FORT HOOD, Texas (AP) At least three military personnel remain in critical condition after a gunman at Fort Hood killed three people and wounded 16 others before committing suicide. Scott & White Memorial Hospital says eight males and one female were admitted following yesterday's gunfire at the Central Texas post. Fort Hood chaplains have set up family counseling centers.

HUNTSVILLE, Texas (AP) The U.S. Supreme Court will consider halting a Texas execution because the state is refusing to say where it gets its lethal injection drug. Tommy Lynn Sells is scheduled for execution this evening. Texas prison officials say they're trying to protect the company from threats of violence.

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) Lawmakers want to see what they can do to attract more venture capitalists to Texas. House Speaker Joe Straus has asked the House Economic and Small Business Development Committee to study venture capital investment in the state and compare it to what is happening elsewhere. The committee will propose legislation to be considered when the Legislature meets again in January.

ROCKWALL, Texas (AP) A man has gotten a 30-year prison term after his conviction on a murder charge in the hit-and-run death of a Northeast Texas police officer last year. Justin Miles Sanders was convicted of murder in Jason Sprague's death. Sprague died the day after he was hit of severe brain trauma, multiple fractures and other injuries.
