HOUSTON (AP) Jurors are expected to soon get the case of a Houston woman accused of stabbing to death her boyfriend with the 5 -inch stiletto heel of her shoe. Ana Trujillo (troo-HEE'-yoh) is accused of striking 59-year-old Alf Stefan Andersson at least 25 times in the face with her shoe. Her attorneys say she was defending herself from an attack by Andersson.

HUTCHINS, Texas (AP) The mayor of a Dallas-area town and eight past and present employees of the town's public works department have been indicted on corruption charges. A Dallas County grand jury accused Hutchins Mayor Artis Johnson of criminal conspiracy and abuse of official capacity. Police say the indictments capped a 16-month investigation.

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) Former President Jimmy Carter will be the keynote speaker on the first day of the Civil Rights Summit at the LBJ Presidential Library in Austin. The summit marks the 50th anniversary of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. LBJ Library director Mark Updegrove will interview Carter after day of panels on immigration, gay marriage and music as a catalyst for social change.
