DALLAS (AP) Southern Methodist University and the University of Texas-Pan American are on a list of schools being investigated over their handling of sexual abuse complaints. Federal officials say schools were publicly identified to spur a broader conversation on campus sex assaults. The schools are being investigated under Title IX. It has been increasingly used by victims who say their schools failed to protect them.

SAN ANTONIO (AP) First lady Michelle Obama will participate in a growing celebration of San Antonio-area high school seniors who are committing to higher education. The event is part of Mayor Julian Castro's push to improve high school graduation rates and increase the number of area residents with college degrees. About 2,100 high school seniors are expected at the event at the University of Texas at San Antonio.

CRAWFORD, Texas (AP) Former President George W. Bush is holding his annual mountain bike ride for U.S. military members wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan. This is the fourth year that Bush has hosted the event. The race is part of the Military Service Initiative at the George W. Bush Institute.

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) A Saudi Arabian sword once presented to former Texas football coach Darrell Royal will be up for auction this weekend in Austin. Royal received the ceremonial sword in the early 1990s by Nassir Al-Rashid. Al-Rashid was a prominent University of Texas donor and adviser to the Saudi royal family.
