FORT BLISS, Texas (AP) A military helicopter from North Carolina has crashed during weekend training exercises at a West Texas post. An official with Fort Bliss in El Paso says the CH-47 Chinook crashed Saturday night with two pilots and two crewmembers on board. Authorities declined to say whether anyone was hurt in the accident involving a chopper from the 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade.

HOUSTON (AP) A second man who falsely claimed he was licensed to practice medicine in Texas has been sentenced to prison in a stem cell treatment scam. A federal judge in Houston sentenced Lawrence Stowe to more than six years in prison. Stowe and Francisco Morales of Brownsville in 2012 pleaded guilty to conspiracy to introduce misbranded and unapproved new drugs into interstate commerce.

CONROE, Texas (AP) Montgomery County authorities say a man has died after he tried to jump off the top deck of a party boat. Montgomery County constables say witnesses saw Ross Lehmberg try to jump from the party boat, hit the bottom deck and fall into the water. Several people on the boat went into the water but were unable to save him.

HOUSTON (AP) Authorities are investigating the shooting death of a Houston-area minister known as "Minister Mike." Neighbors say Magnus Scott Hjalmarson was killed in his garage while preparing for a community yard sale. Hjalmarson worked with a Christian organization known as Care and often coordinated community projects in the area.
