CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (AP) Health officials in a South Texas county are investigating a recent increase of an infectious disease that causes diarrhea, fever and stomach cramps. FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) Bell Helicopter is laying off 325 employees as the company continues to downsize because of declining defense spending. EDINBURG, Texas (AP) Officials with U.S. Customs and Border Protection say three helium-filled surveillance balloons deployed last year along the Texas-Mexico border have been effective in deterring and spotting illegal activity.
