McALLEN, Texas (AP) Three men are in federal custody after holding 35 immigrants in a South Texas apartment while they extorted their families. The McAllen Monitor reports Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in New York were notified by the brother of a Honduran man when he escaped the Pharr apartment where they were being held. The immigrant led ICE agents back to the apartment where they arrested three men and rescued the others on Monday.

WACO, Texas (AP) Six men have been arrested in Waco on charges they raped a girl younger than 16. Police tell the Waco Tribune-Herald that the girl had left school early yesterday with several young men she knew. They took her to a north Waco home where they sexually assaulted her.

BROWNSVILLE, Texas (AP) A man on the run since he was convicted in 2007 of killing a mother of three in South Texas has been captured in India. Cameron County Sheriff Omar Lucio confirmed the capture of Amit Livingston on Friday.
