AUSTIN, Texas (AP) A sentence of life without parole for a Central Texas man convicted of having a yearlong sexual relationship with a 14-year-old girl has raised questions about the application of a new state law. The new law makes continuous trafficking of someone under 17 or continuous sexual abuse of someone under 14 punishable by life imprisonment without parole.

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) Attorneys for a boy injured by the teenage driver who killed four people in a drunken wreck want to hear from the psychologist who said the teen had "affluenza." A Fort Worth judge will hear arguments today from lawyers for driver Ethan Couch and Lucas McConnell. McConnell was injured in the wreck.

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) The Kimbell Art Museum in Fort Worth is putting its newly acquired landscape by a Dutch master on display. The 17th century painting by Jacob van Ruisdael (RYZE'-dayl) titled "Edge of a Forest with Grainfield" will go on display today. Ruisdael is considered one of the greatest landscape painters. Ruisdael expert Seymour Slive calls the painting "a world-class masterpiece."

DALLAS (AP) The original art for the first appearance of Wolverine will be sold today at auction in Dallas. It's expected to sell for more than $240,000. A majority of the after-tax proceeds will benefit the Hero Initiative. It's a nonprofit that strives to aid comic book creators in times of financial need.
