ODESSA, Texas (AP) Investigators say five people have been charged with capital murder in a West Texas abduction and slaying allegedly linked to stolen drugs. Rudolfo Ramiro Paredes and Raymond Hernandez Olgin were arrested Saturday. The pair is charged in Tuesday's fatal shooting of Sean Michael Lamb. Odessa police say a woman, her 17-year-old son and another woman were arrested earlier on capital murder charges.

TEXARKANA, Texas (AP) Autopsy results indicate a man and a woman found fatally shot at a Northeast Texas ranch had multiple wounds. No charges have been filed over the October gunfire. The Bowie (BOO'-ee) County Sheriff's Office has said a resident reported he shot two people trying to break into his home at the Prissy Chrissy Ranch. The bodies of Timber Rena Taylor and Johnathon Lee Hill were on the ranch grounds.

HOUSTON (AP) Houston police say a dispute over who would drive has left a woman dead and a man she was visiting charged with killing her. Police say officers who searched the man's home following Saturday night's shooting found narcotics and cash. Michael Matthews has been charged with murder and possession of a controlled substance. He's accused in the death of Marquis Demetria Isabelle.

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) The director of the Texas agency overseeing law enforcement acknowledges the system to stop officers fired from one department from moving to another is "broken." Police chiefs are supposed to file a form for departing officers labeling their work "honorable," ''general" or "dishonorable." But officers fired for misconduct can still find work elsewhere.
