AUSTIN, Texas (AP) Texans have a one more day to vote early for next Tuesday's primary runoff election. Texas began early voting on Monday. The early voting ending today will help decide Republican and Democratic races from the March 4 primaries where no candidate had a majority. One big GOP race is for lieutenant governor.

WASHINGTON (AP) The odds of hosting the Republican Party's next presidential convention have improved for Dallas after Las Vegas and Cincinnati folded. Dallas is seen as a leading contender over three other cities. That's in part because of its coalition of wealthy donors, ties to the Bush family and an oil industry that could foot the bill.

CHICAGO (AP) President Barack Obama is preparing to boost the profile of an up-and-coming, young Hispanic Democrat. Obama today will nominate San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro to become the nation's housing secretary. Shaun Donovan is Obama's current housing chief. He'll be the new budget director.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) Authorities say they've captured a fugitive in Texas. The U.S. Marshals Service says Jerome Johnson skipped bond after his 2008 arrest. He was charged with possessing a prohibited weapon and carrying a weapon with intent on school property.
