DALLAS (AP) More rain is on tap for much of Texas. A flash flood watch will remain in effect over Central and Southeast Texas into this afternoon. The rain today comes after a Memorial Day full of heavy rain, hail and weak tornadoes in West, Central and Southeast Texas.

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) Republican Lieutenant Governor David Dewhurst faces being ousted in a primary runoff by GOP voters who again appear ready to welcome another tea party wave. Republican nominations for lieutenant governor, attorney general and nearly a dozen statehouse seats will be settled today. Dewhurst has spent $5 million of his own fortune trying to win a fourth term.

DALLAS (AP) The Dallas Museum of Art is putting on display the first item from a rarely-shown Islamic art collection that it recently got on long-term loan. The carved crystal ewer will go on display today at the museum. The pitcher from late 10th- to 11th-century Egypt was cut from a single piece of rock crystal.

PLAINVIEW, Texas (AP) Groundbreaking is planned for next month on a museum dedicated to country singer and sausage mogul Jimmy Dean. Wayland Baptist University and the Museum of the Llano Estacado will break ground June 24th on the Jimmy Dean Museum addition to the museum on the Wayland campus in Plainview. A bronze statue of Dean will be delivered this week.
