HOUSTON (AP) Houston police have detained an unruly male passenger who was aboard a flight from New York City that landed safely at William P. Hobby Airport. JetBlue Airways says nobody was hurt during the incident yesterday afternoon. Investigators say the man allegedly was intoxicated and tried to share prescription drugs with a child.
FORT HOOD, Texas (AP) Officials at Fort Hood shots were fired near a family housing complex located at the Central Texas Army base. The Army base said the incident has been resolved and there is no danger to residents or the public. Fort Hood has been the site of two mass shootings in recent years.
FORT HOOD, Texas (AP) Testimony resumes today at the hearing of a Fort Hood sergeant accused of setting up a prostitution ring with cash-strapped female soldiers. Sergeant 1st Class Gregory McQueen was a noncommissioned sexual-assault prevention officer. He faces more than 21 criminal charges that include pandering, adultery and sexual assault.
GALVESTON, Texas (AP) A man who voted absentee in Texas and Minnesota during the 2012 general election then touted his bogus balloting on Facebook has pleaded guilty. A judge fined Richard Alan Collier $4,000 after he pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor violation of Texas election law. Prosecutors in Galveston say a tip that Collier posted a Facebook message about voting twice led to an investigation and documents examined from both counties.
