WASHINGTON (AP) Homeland Security Secretary Jeh (jay) Johnson says the Obama administration is looking at every option to stem a flood of immigrants crossing the border illegally in southern Texas. Border Patrol agents have apprehended more than 52,000 immigrant children traveling alone since October. And the administration is dealing with more than 39,000 adults with children.

CANADIAN, Texas (AP) The search has resumed for a woman who vanished while horseback riding in the Texas Panhandle. Searchers have found a horse and the body of a young girl Marquita Medrano was with in a flooded area near the Canadian River. There's no sign of the 24-year-old woman.

AMARILLO, Texas (AP) Amarillo's Big Texan Steak Ranch has paid $800,000 to settle a dispute with the federal government. The restaurant has paid back wages and damages to current and former workers after a 2011 audit said it shorted employees. The restaurant owners say it was an administrative mistake and they didn't underpay anyone

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) Beginning in March, Texas drivers will no longer need to have an inspection sticker on their windshield. The head of the Department of Motor Vehicles has told lawmakers that a single sticker will be proof of the inspection and auto registration. Officials say the change will save the state about $2 million.
