DALLAS (AP) A woman whose murder conviction has been strongly questioned by fire science experts has had her case reviewed by a West Texas judge who could recommend her exoneration. A two-day hearing on the case of Sonia Cacy (KAY'-cee) concluded Tuesday in Fort Stockton. Cacy was given 99 years in prison, but paroled after just five years in 1998.

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) The top public health official in Texas says the state has mostly seen only minor diseases like scabies and chicken pox among thousands of immigrant children pouring across the border in recent months. But Texas Department of Health and Human Services Commissioner David Lakey told lawmakers Tuesday the state has concerns about children being tightly packed into U.S. Border Patrol facilities until they're sent elsewhere.

SAN ANTONIO (AP) A small plane dealing with landing gear issues has landed safely at San Antonio International Airport. The Beechcraft Bonanza plane touched down in San Antonio just before 3 p.m. None of the four people on board appeared to be injured. Emergency personnel were prepared to assist the plane once it landed.

HUGHES SPRINGS, Texas (AP) A father and adoptive son have been shot and killed at a home in rural Northeast Texas, and a 13-year-old also adopted by the father is being held in the case. The teen is at a juvenile center in neighboring Gregg County. Sheriff's officials in Cass County say the bodies of the man and his adopted 12-year-old son were found Friday by deputies.
