HOUSTON (AP) Police say a Houston barbershop owner shot and killed a customer during a heated argument when the man refused to leave. The customer refused to leave and the owner told police that he felt threatened and feared for his life. Authorities say the owner called 911 and waited for the police to arrive.

HOUSTON (AP) Police say a teen has died after being accidentally shot at his Houston home while grabbing a gun from his friend. Corbin George was shot Saturday night. He was taken to a hospital where he was briefly treated before being pronounced dead. Authorities say the case will go before a Harris County grand jury to determine whether the friend could face charges.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (AP) The Coast Guard is searching for a man reported missing from a Liberian-flagged tanker in the Gulf of Mexico. The tanker called the Coast Guard for help yesterday while it was about 20 miles offshore. The missing man is the chief engineer. Crews searched yesterday by helicopter, aircraft and boat.

MISSION, Texas (AP) The epicenter of the recent surge in illegal immigration is a 5-mile slice of deep South Texas that has become a hot spot for migrants, human smugglers and drug cartels. This part of the U.S.-Mexico border near Mission bristles with cameras, lookout towers and heavily armed patrols. The Border Patrol's Rio Grande Valley sector has made more than 194,000 arrests just since October.
