PORT ARTHUR, Texas (AP) Chevron Phillips Chemical says two people are injured after a fire at its Port Arthur facility. The company says the situation at the southeast Texas chemical plant is "under control" and that all personnel have been accounted for. The Port Arthur Fire Department says it was not called to the scene and could not provide any further details.

TIVOLI, Texas (AP) All four occupants of a sedan were killed when an oncoming pickup truck drifted into the car's lane and collided head-on with it on a South Texas rural road. Two women and two girls in the car were killed. The five in the truck were injured. Police say the people in the truck were taken to Christus Spohn Memorial Hospital in Corpus Christi with what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries.

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) University of Texas System Chancellor Francisco Cigarroa says he and the Board of Regents have had a 'fractured' relationship with Austin campus President Bill Powers that has worsened. Cigarroa met with Powers last week to urge him to resign or possibly be fired when the board meets Thursday. Powers offered instead to step down in June 2015.

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) U.S. Interior Secretary Sally Jewell is scheduled to promote full funding of the Land and Water Conservation Fund during a visit to Fort Worth. The park was made possible by grants from the Land and Water Conservation Fund. Jewell will announce support for another parks project today.
