HOUSTON (AP) A 15-year-old Houston-area girl who survived an attack in which her parents and four siblings were killed says she's on the road to recovery. Cassidy Stay also thanked first responders yesterday during a gathering in Spring to honor her and her family. Authorities say Ronald Haskell stormed into the family's home last Wednesday and fatally shot Stay's parents and four siblings.

SAN ANTONIO (AP) San Antonio police say an off-duty officer has died in a bicycling accident. Police spokesman Douglas Greene says the officer was biking for recreation when he struck a tree yesterday afternoon near the Jack White Trail. Authorities are still investigating whether any other factors contributed to the officer's death.

SAN ANTONIO (AP) Authorities in San Antonio say a man has been shot and killed at a hotel along the River Walk after getting into a confrontation with a guest. Police Chief William McManus says the man who was killed was reportedly breaking ceiling lights in a hallway of the Grand Hyatt San Antonio when he got into a verbal confrontation with another man. McManus says the victim tried to barge in to the other man's room and was fatally shot.

WACO, Texas (AP) The outfit Lone Ranger actor Clayton Moore wore when making appearances after retiring from television has sold for $195,000 at a Texas auction. Waco-based A & S Auction Company says the outfit was sold yesterday. Moore, who died in 1999, played the masked lawman on "The Lone Ranger" from 1949 to 1957.
