SAN ANTONIO (AP) San Antonio police say an overnight standoff has ended with a wounded suspect in custody. Officers fired and wounded the suspect before he retreated into the house. Negotiators for several hours tried to get the man to surrender. The suspect was treated for a gunshot wound.

METAIRIE, La. (AP) A suburban New Orleans man wanted in death of a woman found bludgeoned to death in her bathtub has been arrested in Texas. The three children he disappeared with have been found. Jefferson Parish sheriff's deputies say Pedro Monterroso-Navas was arrested in a trailer park in Katy late last night. He faces a second-degree murder charge.

DALLAS (AP) The Dallas chief of police wants to unite the area's four unions. Chief David Brown says it's time for the city to have one union representing all of its officers regardless of race. The city is served by the Dallas Latino Peace Officers Association, the Dallas Police Association, The Dallas Fraternal Order of Police and the Black Police Association of Greater Dallas.

FORTH WORTH, Texas (AP) A Fort Worth school district audit says more than $2.7 million of computer equipment and technology is unnecessary. The internal audit found that some of the purchases sat idle during the seven-year period that was examined. The school district's chief technology director says he hopes to recoup some of the money.
