HOUSTON (AP) A suspect in a San Antonio slaying in which the victim's body was stuffed in the trunk of a car has been captured in Houston. The U.S. Marshals Service says Jose Antonio Gonzalez was caught last night at a Houston apartment. Gonzalez faces return to San Antonio on a murder charge in the June 30th fatal shooting of Ahn Cisneros.

McALLEN, Texas (AP) South Texas police are searching for a person of interest in connection with a man found dead in a burning truck. McAllen police say the body of Ryan Tyler Sewell was found Monday morning. Sewell was discovered inside his pickup truck after firefighters responded to reports of a burning vehicle behind an apartment complex.

BEAUMONT, Texas (AP) Prosecutors say the leader of a Texas-based drug ring that supplied at least eight other states has been sentenced to nearly 23 years in federal prison. Alejandro Gonzales pleaded guilty to conspiring to possess with the intent to distribute cocaine, marijuana and methamphetamine. Investigators say Gonzales and his associates for several years were supplied by cartels in Mexico.

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) Jurors will reconvene in Minnesota today to deliberate on whether a late famed military sniper defamed former Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura. Ventura's attorney has asked the jury to award him millions of dollars in damages for what the former Navy SEAL claims is a lie in Chris Kyle's memoir. Ventura says the Texas man invented a story about punching him in a California bar in 2006.
