McALLEN, Texas (AP) A fourth man has been sentenced for his involvement in a South Texas human-smuggling ring that kidnapped migrants from another smuggling gang and held them for ransom. The man got 17 years in prison Monday. The others were sentenced last week and got anywhere from 10 to 22 years. The four were arrested after a 2008 raid on a home near Edinburg

WASHINGTON (AP) A new federal study says man-made earthquakes linked to energy drilling cause less shaking and are 16 times weaker than natural quakes with the same magnitude. The report is based on thousands of responses to a government survey system after quakes in Texas and four other states.

NELIGH, Neb. (AP) Willie Nelson and Neil Young will headline a concert next month on a Nebraska farm in the path of the Keystone XL pipeline. The concert is being organized by people trying to block construction of the pipeline that would carry Canadian oil to the Gulf Coast.
