PHOENIX (AP) O.J. Mayo scored 23 points last night to lead the Dallas Mavericks past the Phoenix Suns 97-94. Brandan Wright and Darren Collison added 16 points apiece for the Mavericks. The Suns have lost five games in a row.

NORMAN, Okla. (AP) Nicole Griffin scored 15 points last night to lead No. 13 Oklahoma past North Texas 71-68. Joanna McFarland, Morgan Hook and Sharane Campbell also scored in double figures for the Sooners. Oklahoma hit 30 free throws in the game, compared to just nine for North Texas.

HOUSTON (AP) The Houston Texans take their undefeated road record to New England to face the Patriots this weekend. The Texans are 6-0 heading into Monday night's game against the Pats. Coach Gary Kubiak says the team is playing with confidence and doesn't panic on the road.

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) Texas coach Mack Brown won't commit to a starting quarterback in the Alamo Bowl against Oregon State. Brown says his staff has not yet met to discuss bowl preparations and the quarterback position. David Ash had been the starter most of the season, but was replaced by Case McCoy in the regular season finale.
