Hidalgo County DA Takes Hard Stance on Gambling Parlors

MISSION - The Hidalgo County District Attorney's Office is searching for the owners of two gaming parlors.

Investigators with the DA's office raided the businesses and seized dozens of eight-liner machines.

One of the raids happened north of Bentsen Palm and Mile Three roads.

Patrons were ordered to wait outside as police checked if any had outstanding warrants.

Hidalgo County District Attorney Rene Guerra is intent on keeping eight-liners from taking foothold in the area.

"That's not going to happen in Hidalgo County. Anything that we hear that is operating like that, we're going to take it down and answer questions later," Guerra said.

The second raid happened at on the 5800 block of North Minnesota Road.
