EDINBURG - The Hidalgo County judge says it is not necessary for President Obama to visit the Rio Grande Valley to witness the current immigration crisis.

Judge Ramon Garcia said the president is working to get additional resources to deal with the issue.

"He requested $2 billion from Congress to appropriate for this issue, as a result from getting information from his administrative assistants, from congressmen, from the committees, from somewhere. He now has upped that request to $3.7 billion. That's what we're looking for ... the resources, not necessarily a trip," he said.
