EDINBURG - The Hidalgo County Republican Party sent a letter to President Obama asking for action to mitigate the immigration crisis gripping the region.
Party members urged the president to "adhere to current immigration law and to direct all agencies in charge ... to provide safe transport back to the countries of origin, rather than a resettlement within U.S. borders."
The letter states that the "selective enforcement of current immigration laws by our executive branch is erroneously encouraging people to illegally enter our country."
