Homeowner Holds Burglary Suspect Until Police Arrive

HARLINGEN - Police said Joseph Anthony Contrearas, 37, was allegedly attempting to steal a weed eater, pump and a power washer from a home in Harlingen. Investigators said the homeowner heard noise coming from a tool shed at the Fairpark Estates early Friday morning. They said the homeowner held Conteraras at bay until police arrived. A second person was held at the scene but police said that person had not been charged.
