HOUSTON (AP) Houston police have arrested two juveniles after the home of a 93-year-old World War II veteran was vandalized using spray paint during a burglary.

Police did not immediately provide additional details Tuesday on the boys, ages 13 and 16.

Investigators say Elbert Wood was at a doctor's appointment Monday when he returned home to find the mess with spray paint on interior walls and furniture. A Purple Heart medal earned by the former Marine, who sustained shrapnel in his leg during the war, was not damaged.

Police searched the neighborhood and located two teens with paint on them and items allegedly stolen from Wood's residence. Investigators believe the pair broke into the house through a window.

Wood lives alone in the home. His wife died a few weeks ago.
