BROWNSVILLE - The Cameron County Sheriff's Department returned almost 200 inmates to the old Cameron County jail in downtown Brownsville.
Sheriff Omar Lucio said the inmates were transferred to other jails two weeks ago after problems with the hot water system at the old jail.
He said 117 inmates were transferred to the Carrizales Rucker Detention Center in Olmito and 79 others to the Brooks County jail.
Lucio said the problems with the hot water system were fixed.
