DONNA - It will take two more months before scientists release the possible cause of a contamination at Donna Lake, officials said.
The Environmental Protection Agency is in the middle of a new research. They are using electromagnetic sensors to search nearby canals for buried metals. They are trying to determine if any transformers or large containers were dumped in the area.
Scientists also are testing cartilage from fish they captured in nearby canals. Those test results also will be available in two months.
Fish first tested positive for PCB chemicals nearly 20 years ago. It is illegal to posses fish caught in the area of the lake.
