CAMERON COUNTY - It took a jury less than a half hour to convict a Cameron County man of murder.
Fifty-one-year-old Albert Stafford was accused of stabbing Ricardo Martinez to death nearly two years ago. Stafford wasn't in the courtroom when the verdict was read Wednesday.
Stafford was representing himself for the first day. Then he quit and refused to go to court after that. A defense attorney was appointed to present evidence.
In the end, the jury only needed 25 minutes to convict him. Now they are considering his sentence.
