SAN JUAN - Investigators returned to a San Juan home federal agents raided earlier. CHANNEL 5 NEWS learned San Juan detectives and a pathologist are searching for more remains.
Agents found animal remains at the house on Cougar Street yesterday. But they also discovered what appear to be human remains. We learned those remains were in a cauldron seized from the home.
We're told those remains are very old. They're still being analyzed at this hour.
Federal agents raided the home yesterday morning. It's believed to be a weapons manufacturing center.
They discovered the remains during the raid. They also found a shrine to the Santisima Muerta, the Mexican saint of death.
From a neighboring yard, a red cloak can be seen in one of the rooms. A shrine with candles is on the floor. We're told there's another shrine in a covered shed.
Among the other items found in the home was a police officer's badge. The badge belonged to a former Rio Grande City police officer.
CHANNEL 5 NEWS learned the officer is alive. He claims his equipment was stolen about nine years ago.
