WESLACO - A Valley family who lost a loved one finds a little closure. State troopers say they've arrested the driver who fatally hit 12-year-old Samantha Barron.

Jesus Adolfo Garza was charged with felony failure to stop and render aid. He's being held on a $10,000 bond.

Barron was hit and killed outside her father's home in Weslaco in October. Troopers say the driver did not stop and render aid.

The victim's family made pleas back in October to find the driver responsible.

They asked anyone with information to step forward. Troopers tell us those pleas paid off Tuesday.

Garza's arrest will do little to diminish their loss. But Barron's relatives tell us they're happy the accused driver is locked up.

The charges against Garza are punishable by up to five years in prison.
