ALAMO - The body of an Alamo soldier killed in combat is headed home.
Sgt. Fernando De La Rosa died in a roadside blast last week. Flags continue to fly at half-staff in Alamo in his honor.
Family members tell us funeral arrangements for the 24-year-old are set for Monday. Details haven't been finalized.
De La Rosa died alongside seven other soldiers in a roadside explosion in Afghanistan.
He previously served two tours in Iraq.
His relatives say he was just two weeks away from coming home.
De La Rosa leaves behind a wife and two children.
His body is expected to arrive Saturday morning. He'll be taken to memorial funeral home in San Juan.
We're told Saturday's services will be private.
A public viewing will be held Sunday, starting at 3 p.m. It'll continue until 9 p.m. A rosary is set for 7 p.m. Sunday.
