BROWNSVILLE - Voter turnout has been low in Brownsville. People across the state are casting ballots for 11 state propositions.

But CHANNEL 5 NEWS found few voters in Brownsville are heading to the polls. One precinct with 1,000 registered voters has had only 11 cast ballots today.

Just over 50 people voted at another polling location.

Voter turnout is running higher in McAllen. We found a line of people waiting to vote at the Palmer Pavilion earlier this afternoon.

Voters there are deciding on two propositions that would change the city charter. The measures will determine whether McAllen police and fire employees should be able to use arbitration to settle certain contract disputes.
