BROWNSVILLE - Customs officers seized a load of weapons at the Brownsville Gateway International Bridge.
Officers stopped the driver of a van trying to cross from the United States into Mexico.
After inspecting the van, authorities found four high-powered assault rifles and five magazine accessories hidden in a back panel in the vehicle.
The 38-year-old Mexican citizen from Brownsville was arrested and turned over to ICE agents.
He's facing federal weapons smuggling charges.
