LA JOYA - The La Joya Independent School District police department is investigating missing money at one of their high schools.

Police Chief Raul Gonzalez says the paper trail of the missing funds leads back to mid October.

Gonzalez says, "We make every effort that anytime we look at cases involving the misuse of funds the most important people we want to take care of our students."

Jimmy Gonzalez, the principal at Juarez-Lincoln High, stepped down two weeks ago.

District police say he is a part of the investigation.
