NICARAGUA - One of Cameron County's most wanted, who was on the run for two years, has been caught. The fugitive wanted for murder was found hiding out in Central America.
U.S. Marshal's caught 55 year old Dennis Wayne Capps in Nicaragua. He was wanted for the June 2006 murder of Brian Aldrich who was killed on South Padre Island.
Capps was indicted by a Cameron County grand jury for Aldrich's murder and was arrested but he bonded out of jail. In Cctober 2007, he failed to show up for a court hearing. Soon after he was placed on Cameron County's top ten most wanted list.
A press release from the Cameron County District Attorney's office does not detail how Capps was tracked down in Nicaragua, but he is in custody tonight.
The victim, Aldrich, was found stabbed to death in his RV near beach access five. Capps is one of three people charged in this murder.
