ALTON - Investigators say a missing Alton teen sent her mother a text message on Monday.

We're told 17-year-old Jasmine Espericueta wrote she was staying at an abandoned home with another woman. But she didn't know the location.

The teen was last seen at the Peter Piper Pizza on University Drive on Halloween. Authorities say Espericueta called her mom that afternoon.

The phone call made her mother, Janie Mendiola, nervous. Her daughter was allegedly crying. At one point, a man answered the phone and then hung up.

The teen's mother says she's run away before but always let her parents know she was fine.

Alton police, FBI agents, and the Center for Missing and Exploited Children are all investigating.

The teen's 2-year-old is staying with his grandparents.
