HIDALGO COUNTY - A 23-year-old man is behind bars after leading authorities on a chase through Mission.
Tuesday night, Mission police officers tried to pull over a driver after learning he had an outstanding warrant for a previous hit and run accident.
The chase ended when the driver crashed into a levee on Los Ebanos Road, South of 3 Mile Line. Then, the suspect got out of his car and jumped into the water.
He was arrested and turned over to Hidalgo County Sheriff's Deputies.
The man is facing evading arrest and drug possession charges.
