PORT ISABEL - Authorities arrested a driver in connection with a fatal hit-and-run in Port Isabel.
The deadly accident happened on the 500 block of Highway 100 around 9 p.m.
Police say a woman in her 40s was crossing the street when a car hit her. We’re told the impact threw the woman about 40 to 50 feet in the air. She died.
The driver did not stop. But police were able to track the car in Port Isabel. One person is in custody.
Police aren’t releasing the victim’s name at this time.
The suspect in the crash is expected to go before judge tomorrow.
