OLMITO - A Valley school was honored today for winning a national contest after they produced a video.
Students at Olmito Elementary School in the Los Fresnos Consolidated Independent School District won the eInstruction Makeover Contest for grades 1-5. As part of their award, they were given $55,000 in technology equipment for the school.
The class produced the video with help from its music teacher at the school and audio-visual program at Los Fresnos High School.
There was a special assembly where the school administrators honored the class that put together the five-minute video. Voters voted online and the video won top honor.
Students and staff encouraged people to vote for their video online. It was their persistence and marketing of the contest that led them to win this contest.
