HIDALGO - Although the Rio Grande Valley Magic started strong, they let off the gas in the second half, allowing the West Texas Roughnecks to rally for a 62-61 win Saturday night. Roughnecks quarterback Devin Dominguez threw for 221 yards and four touchdowns. His top target was wide receiver Hakim Gadiga, who hauled in seven passes for 93 yards. The Magic (5-4) dropped their second straight game to West Texas (5-5) on a night when they could have clinched a home playoff game. Rio Grande Valley will next host Laredo Saturday, June 30.
