LAREDO - The last time an indoor football game was scheduled in Laredo, the visiting team - Corpus Christi - failed to show up in a protest over back pay. Fans with tickets were told they could exchange them for seats for tonight's game against the RGV Magic. It was a leap of faith for the fans since all three teams in the triangle, Laredo, Corpus Christi and Magic are all owned and operated by Chad Dittman. Those that accepted the deal were rewarded. There was indoor football on Saturday night. The Magic slipped to 5-and-5 on the season after a 65-31 loss at the hands of the Snakes. The two teams play a return match in Hidalgo next Saturday night. CHANNEL 5 has also learned that team owner Dittman has the Magic up for sale and hopes to complete a deal with new local ownership early next week.
