Man Accused of Smuggling Weapons to Appear in Court

MCALLEN - A Rio Grande Valley man accused of smuggling weapons in and out of Mexico is due in federal court.
Police arrested Juan Ricardo Cardenas in Roma during a traffic stop. They found five assault rifles, a grenade launcher, four grenades and ammo.
Investigators say Cardenas and another suspect admitted to bringing the weapons back and forth from Mexico to the U.S. to avoid a rival cartel.
