Man Allegedly Admitted to Shooting Brother

NORTH OF MERCEDES - A man who admitted to shooting his brother is expected to appear before a judge this afternoon.

The 22-year-old will face a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

The shooting happened on Cheyenne Street in the Indian Hills subdivision in Mercedes yesterday afternoon. According to the Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office, the man shot his18-year-old brother.

The man's brother was hit twice in the upper left hip. He's now in stable condition at Knapp Medical Center.

While deputies said the man confessed to the crime, he won't tell deputies where the gun's located.
