BROWNSVILLE - A Brownsville man is scrambling to move everything out of a home he lost.
Eddie Flores has lived in the house for five years. He said he spent $10,000 in repairs to the home and thought he was paying monthly rent to one day own the home. But he admits he fell behind on payments, lost a court decision, and a judge ordered his eviction.
Flores said all he's asking for is time to move out. His family's belongings were still inside the home two hours before the sheriff's department was scheduled to lockdown the property.
"I need time to move my stuff and they're not giving me any time," he told us. "I've been asking please and asking them a lot of times. And they don't want to answer."
So Flores contacted 5 On Your Side. CHANNEL 5 NEWS got the number to the man who owns the home. He agreed to give Flores one more day to clear his belongings.
"That's all I needed was for somebody to hear me," said Flores.
Flores said he's not sure where he, his wife and four daughters will go next.
