MCKINNEY, Texas (AP) A North Texas man has been sentenced to life in prison for the 2011 fatal shooting of a man who was in a relationship with his mother.

Prosecutors say the victim's daughter was also shot leaving her paralyzed from the neck down in the attack at their Plano home.

The Dallas Morning News (http://bit.ly/WOtjWU ) reports 22-year-old Edgar Alberto Romo of Plano was convicted of murder and aggravated assault. A judge on Wednesday decided the life prison terms must be served concurrently.

Prosecutors say Romo's motive was unclear when he shot 27-year-old Gabriela Torres in the head and then fatally shot 50-year-old Ismael Torres. Further details about the mother's involvement with Ismael Torres weren't immediately available.

Romo will be eligible for parole in 30 years.
