EDINBURG - A man who witnessed a mobile home fire injured himself, when he checked to see if anyone was inside. That's according to Edinburg Fire Chief Shawn Snider.

The fire happened near Texas and Durango this morning. Fire crews rushed to the scene.

"We did have a citizen that was injured on scene. He put his hand through a window and he cut himself on glass," said Snider.

We learned flames swept through part of a bedroom. That's where most of the damage was contained.

The home belongs to the Torres family. The family's teenage son managed to escape uninjured. They consider themselves very lucky.

The county fire marshal is now working to determine how the fire started.
