BROWNSVILLE - Former attorney Ray Marchan is appealing his three-and-a-half-year sentence on racketeering charges.
Marchan filed the appeal on Tuesday. On Thursday he filed a petition for a court-appointed lawyer.
Marchan, of Port Isabel, was convicted in June in the racketeering case involving then-Judge Abel Limas.
