MISSION - Since October, Border Patrol agents in the Rio Grande Valley detained more than 194,000 people. That's nearly triple the number of any other sector.
Agents have zeroed in on the most popular place to cross. It's a 5-mile strip along the river, south of Mission.
In the first week of June, more than 2,800 people turned themselves in. Border Patrol considers the area the highest-volume arrest zone on the entire U.S. border.
