MISSION - A teenager has been arrested and charged with his brother's death.

Ebed Pena on Wednesday was charged with manslaughter.

Police said he was speeding when he crashed his vehicle last week along Glasscock Road and the eastbound Expressway 83 frontage road.

His brother was in the vehicle at the time of the accident. He was taken to a hospital where he died.

"Certainly this is a very hard investigation," Mission Police Chief Martin Garza said.

"You are dealing with a family that, in reality, is losing two siblings," he said.

"You're dealing with parents who are, unfortunately, not only facing the death of a child ... they are also facing the prosecution of the son who caused the accident and caused the death of the younger brother," Garza said.

Pena was initially charged with reckless driving. He was arrested Wednesday after his brother's burial.

His bond was set at $200,000.
